If you ask someone to draw a bike from memory you’ll get some interesting results. Unresolved areas, extra tubes, extreme angles, unusual proportions. I was curious— what happens if you ask a machine learning model to draw a bike from memory? The initial results were random, but with modifications to the prompt emphasizing particular outcomes, and the ability to generate variations, a style emerged. Using a VR sculpting application, several of the generated images were translated into three dimensional models, fabricated using a large format 3d printer, and hand finished.
This sculpture is suitable for indoor display and can be floor or pedestal mounted. Shipping includes a wooden crate and mounting hardware. Please contact with questions prior to purchase.
